A one day Symposium, celebrating the International Year of Statistics, with a mix of national and international speakers at the forefront of their respective fields: Amilcar Soares (IST), Roland Langrock (CREEM), Rob Schick (CREEM), Henrique Pereira (FCUL), Carl Donovan (CREEM), Feridum Turkman (FCUL), Paula Pereira (IPS ESTS), Raquel Menezes (U.Minho) and Len Thomas (CREEM).
The goal is to discuss the fertile field of Environmental and Ecological Statistics and to promote the exchange of thoughts and knowledge among interested researchers. We are aiming at a compromise between being technical enough to be interesting for researchers that work on the specific area being presented, but also general enough to showcase broad areas of research and applications, and being interesting to both statisticians and practitioners (e.g. ecologists and biologists).
The official language will be English. Eight invited talks, each around 40 minutes, with 5 minutes discussion. Additional details, including the full program and abstracts of the talks, can be found at the event’s webpage:
