In this presentation, I will explore what some of the statistical challenges are in the modern world of earth observation. I will use examples from water and air quality and space weather to illustrate the ‘analytics’ process from design and sampling through to visualisation and communication. I will also consider what this might mean for how we manage and regulate our environment.
