Resumo:
Human neuroscience and psychiatry research is only as good as the statistical methodology it employs. Unable to look at the human brain in action at the cellular level or in vitro, most research in humans is based on statistical associations of multivariate, and even multimodal, data, with behaviour and symptoms. From genetics or brain activation, the increasing richness of data we are able to acquire is more than ever demanding of complex statistical models. We will have a look at recent findings in the filed, including those of my lab, and find out how a statistician can have a important (and fun!) role in advancing human neuroscience.
