Objectivos:
Data usually arrives in a “messy” state requiring tidying. This workshop will teach you to
organise and structure data in a consistent way for analysis and visualisation. The main focus
will be on the dplyr and tidyr packages from the tidyverse. The topics covered will include:
creating new variables, re-ordering observations, selecting observations/variables, summarising
data and restructuring data.
The workshop format will give participants the maximum time to practice R programming.
Concepts, ideas and motivation will be presented in the simplest possible way before each
exercise. Participants will be strongly encouraged to discuss and work together on the course
exercises.
The short course is organized by Mestrado em Bioestatística, with Centro de Estatística e Aplicações da Universidade de Lisboa (CEAUL) and DEIO.
